I just made brownies.
Because I fucking can, that's why.
It's interesting to me that brownies are one of the few baked goods for which I don't feel guilty about using a mix. Brownies... and corn muffins. I did get a box of chocolate chip muffin mix recently, though.
And I suppose the fact that I'm commenting on it means that I do feel a little guilty about dumping pre-mixed ingredients out of a box when I have a perfectly good container of Fair Trade cocoa sitting on the counter.
But, I mean seriously, it's not like cake, or even cookies, where the difference can be pretty obvious. It's brownies. Brownies are pretty hard to screw up. Unless you add that extra egg for "cake-like" brownies, and who in their right mind would do a thing like that? Brownies are to be fudgey, dammit. Gooey, chewy, chocolatey delights that are delightfully full of chocolatey chocolateness.
