Jun. 14th, 2004 08:45 amJack was a thief. He always had been. And he wasn't one of those thieves with a heart of gold that you're always reading about. He was much more practical than that. He didn't kill his marks because well, you wouldn't be able to do much stealing after you'd been hung for murder now would you? For some reason Jack's pragmatic conscience earned him respect among the other thieves at the dock. He settled their disputes and in return, they left him alone for the most part and didn't attack his marks once he was done with them.
