fuzzybluemonkeys: Meg living in captivity. (one girl revolution)
So I made the mistake of reading a bunch of articles about reproductive rights and the contraception debate and then listening to the Little Mermaid soundtrack, and now my brain has busted out this bizarre feminist meta wherein Mermaid choosing to become Human = [bright young] Women [sick of swimmin'] choosing to become Sexually Active, but how in so doing they are expected to give up their voice in regards to the consequences.

Yeah, I don't know either. My brain hurts.

(Betcha on land, they understand, bet they don't reprimand their daughters.)
fuzzybluemonkeys: winged fuzzy blue monkey (silly)

The Fairy's Lament
I fell to earth in a dew drop,
and found that I'd lost my way.
So ever since then,
I've tried to get home again,
and I pray that I will someday.

[I'm trying to find the YouTube equivalent for audio files and this is clearly not it due to the ad that's longer than the song, but a "Skip Ad" link comes up on the left in red part way through, so you don't have to watch the whole thing]
fuzzybluemonkeys: fuzzy blue monkey (blue)
I'd monkey in the mornin',
I'd monkey in the evenin'
All over this land.
I'd monkey out danger,
I'd monkey out warnin',
I'd monkey out love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land.

ETA:
If I had a Monkee,
I'd get bitten in the mornin',
I'd get bitten in the evenin'
All over this hand.

At what point in the course of burning a corpse does it occur to you to add seasoning?
fuzzybluemonkeys: I just read the most wonderful story about a beanstalk and an ogre and (oh really)
Problem: The elastic in the shelf-bra of my tank top had been getting sorta skanky doing that weird degraded elastic thing that elastic does, but is otherwise totally wearable.

Solution: Cut the elastic off but leave the cloth of the "bra" in, and it works pretty much the same. I don't know that it would work for Seven of Nine, but small boobs FTW!
fuzzybluemonkeys: Smith & Jones (Mickey & Martha) (partners)
but this is what happens when I listen to Come What May over and over again while contemplating this prompt (I was also making book labels at work, but that's neither here nor there).

Ryan:
Never knew it could be like this
'Cause I've never kissed a guy before
Want to ignore but can't dismiss
Once just bros, but now we're something more
Listen to my heart, can you hear it sing
Telling me that this is more than a fling
Work may get in the way of things
But we're partners until the end of time

Let them scoff, let them scoff
I'll be with you until the wheels fall off

Esposito:
We have always been up in each other's space
We have always moved in such concerted grace

Both:
You were always there right in front of my face

Esposito:
I'm so glad I found you

Both:
And there's no crime spree too vile, no corpse that's too fried
Call my last name, and I'll be there by your side
Castle may blather and Kate may smile wide
But I love you until the wheels fall off

Let them scoff, let them scoff
I will love you until the wheels fall off
Oh let them scoff, let them scoff
I will love you

Esposito:
With you I want to work on every case...

Both:
Let them scoff, let them scoff
I'll be with you until the wheels fall off
fuzzybluemonkeys: Anything you can geek, I can geek greater (geekery)
My mind leaks like a sieve
Releasing all the things I thought I knew
Replacing them with new ideas to lose
My eyes see blind as bats
So not at all
I hear
Sounds
Like a riot
Loud and louder and loudest
Someone misplaced the apocalypse
Again.

I sorta feel like the last two lines should be the beginning of a different poem/story, but I don't know what happens next.
