while the boss is away...
Jul. 29th, 2004 11:42 amthe student workers will slack off. arg. Bertha called this morning and gave me permission to slack off if i got tired of straightening drawer contents and she just called now in the middle of my typingness and i told her i was taking a break from drawer straightening and she said it was fine both times if i just wanted to sit at her desk and answer the phone. considering i've been drawer straightening for 2 hours and 45 minutes i think that's acceptable. however, the other students who got here late (as usual prince tuesday) came in and started slacking off from the get go. now, although the behavior that is slacking off mystifies me and annoys me a bit, i can handle it when the person slacking off has a nice personality. some of the other slacker workers and people i know from school who slack off don't bother me so much if they're nice people and sorta aware that they're slackers. however, there's this one girl at work who's a slacker with a snotty superiority thing going on and she annoys the living crap out of me. she acts all queen of the frelling map room despite the fact that whenever the oppurtunity to avoid work arises she takes it.
sigh.
in more interesting map goings on, while i was straightening drawers, there was this one drawer with lots of posters in it including my favorite "The Water Cycle: Nature's Recycling System". it's a shame we're not allowed to hang stuff up on the walls here (cuz they're all new and freshly painted) cuz i would totally vote for my water cycle friends even though i suppose it's not particularly map related. but water and recycling are related to everything dammit.
