it's not about cuteness. i don't care if they were experimenting on tarantulas or snakes or some ugly ass dog. that doesn't change the fact that what they did is wrong. i mean, at least if you kill a cow it's so someone can eat it and that's the food chain, it's part of nature. i mean, if you're going to not eat living things, your dietary options are going to be pretty limited. if a greedy little human didn't pluck it out of the ground, the carrot would live longer than it does. so we kill the cow and we kill the carrot for food. and it sucks for the cow and it sucks for the carrot and it will suck for the humans when the aliens arrive and it turns out How to Serve Man is a cookbook, but that's not the point. the point is that you do not torture another living being by dripping acid into their brain until they're blind in one eye. i don't care how cute or how ugly they are. i don't care if they're a serial killer or Osama bin frelling Laden, it just. isn't. done.
