so something i noticed in my brief sojourn to the world of social interaction with my peers is that lower dorm floors are oppressive. like, walking down the hall on the second floor, i could somehow really tell that i wasn't on the top floor of the building (i mean, yeah, duh, i had just walked down the stairs) but there's really just this feeling that i get whenever i'm not on the top floor of the dorm, like when i accidentally miss the last flight of stairs and start down the hall on the third floor, i can sense that something's wrong and off and i mean it's not like the 4th floor has skylights or anything so you can tell you're at the top and it's not like i notice that sort of thing when i'm in a windowless classroom (years of pennsbury conditioning perhaps?) but i definitely notice in the dorm. i know i'm overreacting to this sensation, but it is a sensation i have experienced nonetheless and i'm glad i've lived on the top floor of every dorm i've lived in since i got here.
