So, when pages go missing from a library book--usually because some jackass sees fit to rip/cut the pages out rather than making a damn photocopy or taking some damn notes--the way we go about replacing them is that I put in a request with Inter-Library Loan (ILL). ILL asks other libraries, "Hey, do you have this? Can we borrow it?" and they'll send their copy if it's available. I then make photocopies of the missing pages and insert them into the original text.
Today I got a copy of the book I needed from Swarthmore, and I open it up to the pages I need to copy-- only to find that someone had ripped the same exact article out of their copy as well.
Which made me laugh, in a hysterical "I can't believe this is happening" sort of way.
