you know it's bad when you try to wash your face with shampoo

which is what i did last night after a day of misery. i also wasted way too much of my life trying to get that stupid turnin script to work. bad immune system. no cookie. and tonight is capitol steps so i can't be feeling yucky. i forbid it. cuz then i won't be able to enjoy the show. which i paid 5 whole dollars for. well, i finally caved and took dayquil so hopefully that will help, though my current mental state would be most accurately described as: fire bad. tree pretty.

dayquil, why have you forsaken me?

i took dayquil, dayquil, dammit. it should have worked. instead? nothing. just as bad as yesterday. do you have any idea how hard it is to encapsulate things when you have to stop every few minutes (if not seconds) to run and get a tissue? and when you have a job in the preservation lab attention to detail and a sharp mind are very helpful things to have.

the capitol steps

were sooooo awesome. and my nose took pity on me, so i only had to blow it 3 times! some of the songs i'd already heard from the 4th of July special, but it was cool to see them live because they actually do dress up as their people. so it's less disconcerting than finding out what garrison keiler or micheal feldman looks like. and they do funny dances and gestures and stuff that you totally miss on the radio. so it was well worth the five dollars. and, in addition to my ticket stub and my program, i snerched the poster that was hanging in the hall (since it's now out of date anyway, she said innocently). on the way back i stopped in the post office to check and see if maybe the reason i have not gotten my package yet is that it's small enough to fit in my mailbox (glasses and a remote could be reasonably mailbox-shaped. but no. i did get a paycheck though which is always fun. though it appears they take out more taxes now that i don't have work study. not nearly as much as New Jersey though.
