fuzzybluemonkeys: stack of books + quote from Pilot on Farscape: I don't get out much so I read (oh really)

The first episode is the "Where Is Everybody?" one that Laryssa always mentions when I mention The Twilight Zone.

And then there's "One For The Angels" with Mr. Death who's more Misha Collins than Julian Richings, but does the whole If The Person Who's Supposed To Die Doesn't, Then Someone Else Has To thing.

Four episodes in, and there's actually one I haven't seen! "The Sixteen Millimeter Shrine": Aging movie actress crawls into her old films to escape the reality of growing old (as opposed to the one with the aging movie actress who sucks the life out of young men in order to escape the reality of growing old).

So far out of seven episodes on the first disc of season 1, there were two that I hadn't seen before (the second one was a Be Careful What You Wish For/Who Wants To Live Forever type dealie). This is exciting. Also in the asteroid prison one, people pronouncing "robot" as "robut" is amusing in an I'm 12 sort of way.

"Time Enough At Last": The episode that makes me absurdly grateful to be near-sighted such that if my glasses break at the end of the world, I will still be able to read. (I won't be able to see the Zombies coming at a distance, but I'll be able to read, dammit)

And then another episode I had never seen before followed by a few that at first I thought I hadn't seen, but then remembered (including a philosophical precursor to my fave, "Death's-Head Revisted"). I guess I only saw them once before instead of the usual 12 times.

Music by Jerry Goldsmith!

8 episodes on season 1, disc 2 with two more never before seen. Wheeee!

Another new (to me) one: Some guy named Gibbs vs. Gambling Is Bad, Mmmkay?

"And somewhere in between the heaven, the sky, the earth... lies the Twilight Zone."

Let me sum up: 20 episodes of Rod Serlingy goodness with 6 of those never before seen by me. And as an added bonus, I didn't get interrupted by wrestling (for shame, SyFy, for shame!).

*Okay, 99.9% less because they've got ads for other CBS shows on at the time like Wanted Dead or Alive starring Steve McQueen and The Danny Thomas Show.

the julian richings link does not work but that pic really makes the other guy look like misha wich i did not notice when i saw that ep on last years marathon

i think the word robot comes from something czech that means slave so they were prob trying to say it with an acent

yeah i can read ok with no glasses i would just need sunglasses outside if i lost my transitions but im sure i could loot a few 1$ stores and be set for awile with those

is the precoursor the one where the guy is getting advice on starting a hate group from the shadowy figure and then at the end the shadow guy looks like hitler or is that a dif one that just hapens to mention nazis

did the guy named gibbs stop elavators to slap peps on the back of the head

i know its wrong on so many levels to inturupt like that and the wrestling threw me off so even now that its over i dont think im going back to the marathon tonight

Julian Richings is the guy who plays Death on SPN. The link works for me, so I don't know what's up.

The precurser is a U-Boat Captain who winds up on the ghost ship of a ship with civilians on it that he destroyed, and he has to relive the terror of being bombed by a U-Boat every night for all eternity. So it's philosophically similar as well as Nazi-ly similar. I've never seen the Hitler one, that sounds cool.

The Gibbs guy was all judgy of gamblers but then he became one, and then trying to get away from the slot machine that keeps saying his name (his first name, Franklin, not Gibbs, that would have been cooler) he falls out the window. So it's bascially like Gambling Addiction Will Kill You PSA.
